During Wild Card Weekend, I predicted the New England Patriots would win the SuperBowl by defeating the Seattle Seahawks. At the time, I didn’t think the Denver Broncos could defeat New England because of my doubts in Peyton Manning’s ability to play in colder weather. Needless to say, the temperature for the game against New England was a balmy 63 degrees in Denver and the Broncos pulled off the win and became the AFC Division Champions. Seattle performed as I expected and won their Division Championship in what came down to a strong defensive performance.
With that being said, I have revised my prediction to:
You may ask why the change in my prediction. I could have stayed in line with my original prediction and just swapped Denver and Peyton Manning wherever I mentioned New England and Tom Brady. Well there were two reasons.
First, I’ve come to realize the Seattle defense has a ball hawking mentality with the sole purpose of taking the ball from their opponent. I admit I underestimated the Seattle defense in the past because I was always put off by Richard Sherman’s ego.
Second, the weather will affect Peyton Manning. Hell, it’s affecting me and I don’t have any metal screws or bolts in my body. The Polar Vortex is wreaking havoc on most of the country during the one year that the SuperBowl is being held in a cold winter locale.
I just hope it doesn’t negatively affect Bruno Mars’ performance.
